Fabric shopping in Paris- 03/02/2012

On the 2nd of February 2012, the first year fashion design students of the University of East London visited France, in order to explore the fabric shopping areas of Paris, a city worldwide famous for its fashion. In the morning of the 3rd of February we visited Place St. Pierre, an area of Paris that concentrates the most fabric shops at the main road, a perfect place to source high quality fabrics in every price range. In between 15 to 20 different fabric stores, including two 5 floors department stores, I had the chance to see, touch and explore new fabrics in different colours, prints and fibres during the whole day! Apart from the fabric stores, somebody visiting this area, could also find 2-3 stores with trimming, embroidery and knit pieces for garment decoration.

( Could not take more pictures because the shops owners and workers forbid that)

The next day I took a long walk at one of the most known and best shopping destinations of Paris, Champs Elysses. Visitors can there find a great number of clothing stores from high street to luxury, including the legacy of Louis Vuitton ofcourse!!

Here are some pictures of Louis Vuitton building.
